Gilden-Fire Frontispiece

☆☆☆☆☆ [0]
  1. GILDEN-FIRE: Frontispiece - A black ink and gray pencil drawing on a 11 x 14 size vellum paper. It appears as the frontispiece in the book, "GILDEN-FIRE," by Stephen R. Donaldson, published by Underwood Miller in 1981.

This incomplete short story is actually a "segment" edited out of Donaldson's epic novel "The Illearth War," because, in the editor's judgement, it had little to do with the goings on in his fantasy story. Donaldson, like Stephen King and many other fantasy authors who write seemingly unending epics have a tendecy to over-write.

Publishers like to take advantage of an author's popularity because their fans buy everything they write. So why let this deleted part go to waste, here it is in an illustrated (by yours truly) limited hard-cover edition, signed and numbered just for Donaldson's fans.
